All’s well in the perfect world of Ted Nugent. After meeting with the Secret Service in Oklahoma, Nugent has been deemed a non-threat to President Obama. The controversial quote made at a National Rifle Association convention, “if President Obama is re-elected I will be either dead or in jail by this time next year”.
The controversy has quickly moved through the media with completely different opinions. Now that the Secret Service has cleared him, can Nugent’s statement be disregarded? Or is it possible that Nugent is being singled out, as suggested in the linked Christian Science Monitor article? http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/DC-Decoder/Decoder-Wire/2012/0419/Ted-Nugent-meets-Secret-Service-Was-he-singled-out
Nugent’s remarks are nothing more than colorful language of hate, that has been said plenty the past three and a half years. The media, has literally taken Nugent’s remarks and gave them more value then they deserve. We have media outlets polling, should Nugent apologize, to other sources suggesting his free speech is being violated. The idea that the Motor City Madman should apologize, is as stupid as suggesting he is a physical risk to President Obama. How do you apologize for rant? You can’t and do we really need to hear more crap from Nugent’s mouth? Speaking in front of “the home team” and firing them up was what he was doing. The selection of his words?? Simple and a language the GREAT AMERICAN UNWASHED understands.
